Development Trust Africa Scholarships for Studies in UK - Covers 100% Of Course Fees

Scholarship Description:
Loughborough University announces full-fee scholarships for international full-time taught postgraduate students who are currently domiciled (permanently living) in Africa. Loughborough University Graduate School Development Trust Africa Scholarships will cover 100% of the course fees for postgraduate taught course for one year (replacing any Departmental or Loughborough University scholarships or bursaries that may already have been awarded).

Eligibility criteria:

  • Currently domiciled (permanently living) in Africa;

  • Evidence of exceptional academic achievement (normally a 1st Class Honours Degree);

  • Commitment to return to their home country on completion of postgraduate programme;

  • Evidence of the ability and commitment to making a significant contribution to their home country on their return;

  • Full understanding of the costs involved in coming to study and live in the UK;

  • Evidence of strong motivation and initiative to secure funds to cover the remainder of the costs involved.

Applications will be initially shortlisted and the final decision on the awards will be made by a selection panel of staff of the university.

For 2011 entry the scholarship application procedure is an open competition. Students may only apply for the scholarship after an offer for a place has been made. Students who are in possession of an offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on a postgraduate taught course can apply for the scholarship using the application form which can be downloaded.

Applicants are advised to spend considerable effort ensuring that this application reaches the selectors in a form that is clear, well presented and which reflects your abilities and motivation. The final closing date for applications is 30th April 2011, and applicants must not apply late. All those applying will be notified of the outcome of their application by email by the end of May at the latest.

UEA Scholarships for International students at University of East Anglia, UK 2011

Scholarship for all courses offered at the University of East Anglia, UK for Bachelors, Masters and PhD international students.

Each year, the University of East Anglia in UK awards over £1,000,000 of scholarships to support international students in their studies. The scholarship awards are made available by individual Schools of Study in the University. All international students (outside the European Union) are considered for a scholarship of between 10% and 50% of tuition fees. Applicants need to make a separate application in order to be considered for a University of East Anglia scholarship. Please indicate on your application for admission that you wish to be considered for a scholarship.

Application Deadline: April or May each year Note: It is important to make an application as early as possible because they are considered as they are received. So apply early to make sure of the best chance of success.

Course of Study:
Scholarships are available from all Schools of Study and across most courses of study. Students of outstanding academic ability will also be considered for Faculty Scholarship Awards made by the Dean of Faculty, usually in April or May each year. These are highly competitive and prestigious award. Notification If you are granted a scholarship, you will be informed at the time you receive your offer of a place at UEA.

Selection Criteria:
Scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of academic merit and are normally for the duration of the period of study - three years for Bachelor and PhD degrees and one year for Masters Programs.

Scholarship Description: A)International applicants who have successfully completed secondary education or are in their last year of secondary education. B) Applications cannot be accepted from those who:



  • 1) hold Turkish nationality

  • 2) are a citizen of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

  • 3) hold dual nationality, one of which is Turkish or that of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

There are additional scholarships available based on International Baccalaureate, ABITUR, Matura and French Baccalaureate diplomas, completion of AP program and performance in International Science Olympiads.


Students will also have the opportunity to improve their scholarship status after admission to OzU by demonstrating high academic performance in classes (academic merit scholarships).
